We invest in the whole student

NEARI members invest in your child with everything they do, whether it's teach a lesson, serve a meal, drive a bus, administer child health programs, help with library skills, or provide college counseling. Here's just a sampling of community activities that are designed to help every child succeed - in school, and in life.

NEARI members volunteer

New! The NEARI Member Volunteer Project Team (MVP Team) is dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteer efforts in a wide variety of situations. It is run by members, through Facebook and face-to-face organizing. Anyone can join and promote a cause! The Team's first event was a Halloween party for 120 children served by the East Providence Boys and Girls Club.

Help prevent bullying

NEA launched BullyFree: It Starts With Me to help family and educators end bullying among students. There are resources and tools for nearly every situation, and a pledge.

Reaching out to needy students

The NEARI Children's Fund reaches out to students and families in need, no matter what the reason. If a NEARI member sees a student who lacks clothing essentials or displays a need for food, heat, eyeglasses, etc,., a he/she may make the request to Fund Coordinator Val Staples for assistance. Within a day, that student is ready to focus on school again!

Fighting the cost of student borrowing

NEA's Degrees not Debt program focuses on working with Congress to find solutions to college affordability. You can add your voice to the effort!
