9/2/2011

This is the weekend we all try to squeeze the last bit of summer into our lives as cooler weather and longer nights forecast the change of seasons. However, it is also the weekend to take time to celebrate the roots of the labor movement and what unionism has meant - and continues to mean - for us, our families, and America. Two events are scheduled Monday in celebration of our rich labor history. In Central Falls, there will be a commemorative rally at the Saylesville Massacre Monument, Moshassuck Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. At 12:30, marchers will gather at the State House in Providence to proceed to LaborFest in the parking lot at Union Station. There will be music, food, drinks, and solidarity. Hope to see you at one of these events.
