The Rhode Island General Assembly will be holding a special session at the Rennisance Hotel this afternoon from 5-8. Starting next Wednesday, September 14, joint meetings of both the House and Senate Finance committees will be held each Wednesday in September. They will hear presentations by different "experts" on the Rhode Island pension situation. NEARI, along with the other unions involved has requested a chance to present before this group.
The Governor and General Treasurer are due to release their pension plan on or about October 1. Now is a great time to call them, tell your story and remind them that you kept your end of the deal, you expect them to do the same.
