Three events in the next ten days will center around pensions and the union message regarding workers.
Monday, September 19; NEARI Executive Committee Meeting. This meeting of the Executive Committee will focus almost entirely on the pension situation, the Governor and Treasurer's proposal, due on or about October 1, and the October legislative session. If you have any questions or concerns, please share them immediately with your local president.
Thursday, September 22; Rhode Island Retirement Security Coalition Presentation. The presentation will take place at the Department of Administration Cafeteria in Providence, 3-5:30 PM. The event is sponsored by NEARI, SEIU, and AFSCME.
Monday, September 26: NEARI Tele Town Hall. A conference call on pensions at 7 PM for all NEARI members impacted, hosted by NEARI President Larry Purtill and Executive Director Bob Walsh. Check your emails this coming week for more information and/or check back here.
