The draft of the Governor and Treasurer's pension legislation was leaked to the press and contains much of what was expected; a very unfair bill that suspends and cuts the COLA and raises the retirement age to 67 for many. The actual legislation will be presented to the House and Senate on Tuesday and then hearings will be held after that, probably on successive Thursdays.
What you can do between now and Tuesday: Contact the Governor and Treasurer and raise your concerns. Come to the State House on Tuesday to show the legislature you are paying attention. Remember; most members live in Rhode Island, pay taxes here and will stay here after they retire. Don't let the Legislature forget that.
