Fund Glocester Schools, Protect our Students

Tell Glocester elected officials that balancing the town's finances on the backs of students and staff is not a choice we should accept.

Take Action

Write Glocester elected officials: Work together to find the money to fund our schools and our students.

Glocester public schools provide outstanding education because the dedicated educators and support staff work together with parents and families to make it possible. But now, more than a dozen critical positions are being cut due to the approved budget being underfunded by $840,000. These cuts will dramatically increase class sizes, jeopardize student safety, and make it impossible to meet special education and MLL requirements. This isn’t just short-sighted, it’s harmful to our children and could end up costing the district more in the long run.

We need to demand that our elected officials stop pointing fingers and start working together to restore the funding our schools need. These layoffs send a damaging message that Glocester doesn’t value its students or its educators. Email the Town Council, School Committee, State Senators and Representatives today and urge them to find the money and fix this — our kids are counting on us.
