National Education Association Rhode Island (NEARI) President Larry Purtill expressed outrage today at U.S. Secretary of Education’s remarks to the nation’s governors against the parent NEA. Purtill used the words “outraged” and “extremely disappointed” in describing his reaction to Paige’s remarks.

NEARI opposes Regents proposal to lengthen the school day

NEARI President Larry Purtill, Executive Director Bob Walsh, and other local and state leaders have been persistently testifying against the Board of Regents proposal to impose a mandatory longer school day in public hearings held around the state.
