What We Do

The NEA Rhode Island is both a union and a professional organization. As a union, it provides traditional collective bargaining assistance to its 74 local associations, and representation to its 11,000 members in work-related issues. Members include teachers, education employees, higher education faculty and staff, state and municipal employees, and retirees.

As a professional organization, it provides services such as research and training to support these members in achieving excellence in their employment.

In addition, members have the opportunity to participate in discounts on goods and services through the Member Benefits program.
