I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of NEARI Assistant Treasurer. As a proud member of our union, I am dedicated to protecting our integrity and ensuring that our resources are used to amplify and strengthen our collective voice.
This year marks my 24th year teaching in Portsmouth. Over the past decade, I have served in various roles, including building representative at both the middle and elementary school levels, local Co-President, and for the past four years, as President. I have also been an active participant in the Delegate Assembly, served as Chair of our negotiation team for two contracts and multiple contract extensions, and last year, I had the privilege of serving as the New Member Organizer for our district.
Through these experiences, along with my participation in NEA and NEARI leadership conferences, Education Summer, testifying at the State House, organizing for Lobby Days, and engaging in numerous NEARI trainings and book clubs, I have gained valuable insight into the importance of leadership, advocacy, and union solidarity.
These roles have equipped me with the skills necessary to serve with dedication, attention to detail, and accountability. I believe in the power of open communication, collaboration, and the responsible stewardship of our funds.
I would be truly honored to earn your trust and your vote in the upcoming election.
