NEA Federal Funding Guide

How much funding does my public school get from the federal government?

See how much funding public schools in your congressional district get from the federal government and how the programs help students.

Students in every school district, in every community, in every state, rely on federal funding for public schools.

These funds help:

  • lower class sizes;
  • give support to students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other disabilities;
  • feed hungry students so they can learn;
  • provide one-on-one tutoring; and
  • make the cost of higher education and technical career programs more affordable.

If Congress cuts—or eliminates—these funds, whole programs will be eliminated or reduced, or the local government will have to fill in the gaps.
