Join us at the Statehouse on February 6 where we kick off with a rally/press conference announcing our legislative agenda for the 2024 session.

Then YOU get to use YOUR VOICE to talk briefly with legislators and urge them to support strong public schools and good paying jobs for all. We know one-on-one conversations are the most effective, and this is a great opportunity for you to speak directly to the State Representative and Senator that represent your district about NEARI’s legislative priorities.

We are looking for representation from all Locals, with a Lobby Day Captain from each who will serve as point person between the Local and your NEARI UniServ. We will also host a virtual meetup prior to Lobby Day as well as information packets on the the day of the event. Light refreshments will be served in the Statehouse Library.

What you should know

Local Lobby Day Captains

Lobby Day Captains will be appointed by the Local President and will be responsible for recruiting, tracking, and updating members. Captains will also be the liaison between the Local and your NEARI UniServ. If you would like to serve as your Local's Captain, contact your Local President.

Local Presidents, please submit your Lobby Day Captains to your UniServ Director by November 27.

Training and Logistics

This promises to be a fun, rewarding, and productive experience and a great way to get involved! Captains and members will attend a brief Zoom meeting on January 23. We will outline NEARI's legislative priorities, review the day's agenda, and provide guidance for your one-on-one conversations.
