Warwick, R.I. – On the first day of classes for the spring session, CCRI Faculty Association (CCRIFA) will hold an informational picket on all four campuses, with a short speaking program on the Knight Campus in Warwick, on Monday, January 22, 2024, to encourage management to come back to the table and bargain a fair contract.

CCRIFA has been working without a new contract since June of 2022. Labor and management are currently engaged in mediation, but management has not responded to the Union’s latest proposal or brought any proposals of their own to resolve the dispute and no negotiating dates are currently scheduled.

During that time, CCRIFA members have served their students, the college, and their community with dedication and integrity. CCRIFA knows that shared governance, fair wages, and a respectful work environment have a positive impact on the educational outcomes of students. Students whom the faculty members are so proud to know, nurture, and educate.

A local union affiliated with the National Education Association Rhode Island, CCRIFA represents about 300 full-time faculty that teach students everything from English as a second language to job skills in renewable energy, dental hygiene, and nursing.
